Mrs. Shannon R. Ramirez is a Shareholder with Hays, McConn, Rice & Pickering, P.C. Shannon has been with the firm since graduating South Texas College of Law in 1995. While a student at South Texas, Shannon was a member of several national moot court advocacy teams and was named Outstanding Female Graduate of 1995. She was also named a member of the Order of Lytae, Order of the Barristers and Dean's List.
Shannon primarily handles her own docket, which consists mainly of premises liability and negligence cases. She has handled cases involving claims for inadequate security, improper or inadequate road construction and unsafe working conditions in the workplace. She has also been involved in cases dealing with serious injury and death.
Shannon has also tried numerous cases, and acted as lead counsel in the majority of those cases. She also handles every aspect of the defense of a case, including drafting pleadings, drafting and responding to discovery, and attending hearings, depositions, mediations and trial.
Her representative clients are Enterprise Leasing Company, TIG Insurance Company, Zurich-American Insurance Company, Crum & Forster Insurance Company and Mount Hawley Insurance Company.
Shannon is a member of the Houston Young Lawyer's Association, the Houston Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyer's Association, Texas State Bar Association and Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Inc. She was also an Adjunct Professor at South Texas College of Law from 1996 - 2001.
